Our Mission Statement
We, the members of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, remain firm in our belief that Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, calls us to this time and in this place to be His witness and His ministers. We believe that our personal resources of time, talent and treasure, and our corporate church facilities should be used to proclaim the Gospel in our community, state, nation and the world. We pledge to support each other in prayer, to do His will, and share our knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with fellow believers and non-believers. HISTORY The Congregation of St. Mark's, founded in 1824, is located in the small village of Middleburgh in upstate New York. The original building burned in 1854, was rebuilt and completed in 1858. It is an historic church which is a rectangular, gable roofed, brick structure rebuilt in 1856 in the Italianate style. It features an engaged center brick entrance with a bell tower with open belfry. St. Mark's is now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. |
